The engineers in Tokyo have been working feverishly on our newest recorder. I can’t share all the details with you just yet but I can tell you it is something new and different for Olympus and it’s coming very soon. Fans of our LS series of recorders will want to take note. This one is just for you.

Below are some photos of a prototype I was able to get my hands on. I didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet so these are just glimpses. Any guesses on what we’ve developed?

Stay tuned to the blog and follow us on Twitter for updates and announcements on our newest recorder.

Update: 12/8/11

There’s just one more photo I want to show you before the official announcement. Have a look at these!

See where we’re headed here?

  1. Finally! A knob controlled Rec level, that’s an incredibly useful upgrade. The LS-100 looks very promising although I don’t like (what appears to be) the 3 internal mics. Are they movable/removable?

  2. Those are two internal mics you see and they are not removable. However, I just uploaded one final picture of the unit which may resolve your concerns. Check it out.
